Board of Supervisors addresses several matters via public hearings

The Allamakee County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Monday, August 31 to address a full agenda of matters including the Public Hearing relating to the Amendment to Zoning Ordinance L, discussion of the Victim Witness Coordinator Grant and related Allamakee County Budget Amendment, and the Public Hearing for the Fiscal-Year 2027 (FY27) Allamakee County Budget Amendment.

The meeting was called to order by Board of Supervisors Chairperson Tom Clark with Supervisors Dennis Keatley and Dan Byrnes present. During Public Comment, Solid Waste Manager Dave Mooney provided a brief update relating to County Solid Waste and Recycling.

The meeting moved into the Public Hearing for the Fiscal-Year 2027 (FY27) Allamakee County Budget Amendment. The Public Hearing was opened with County Auditor Denise Beyer advising that this matter relates to the County Solid Waste Department’s purchase of a garbage truck. The Public Hearing was closed.

In a separate motion, the adoption of the FY27 Allamakee County Budget Amendment was approved with the adoption of the Appropriations Resolution for the FY27 Allamakee County Budget Amendment next being approved.
