The Johnson County Auditor’s Office is again partnering with the University of Iowa to offer students a hands-on learning experience in election administration this fall.
Through the Election Administration course taught by Professor Alex Smith, students will get an inside look at how elections are conducted, explore the laws and processes that govern elections, and serve as Johnson County Precinct Election Officials (poll workers) during the 2026 General Election.
Students visited the Johnson County Auditor’s Office on Thursday for an introduction to election administration, a tour of the office and its facilities, and onboarding as poll workers.
Nearly 40 students are enrolled in the course and are expected to work at Johnson County polling locations during the November 3rd General Election.
