The average reported price of regular gas across the county was $3.89 per gallon.
Among 22 gas stations in cities within Hardin County, nine offered regular gas.

The decline followed a volatile spring in energy markets, when analysts linked higher gasoline and diesel prices to rising crude oil prices and concerns about supply disruptions tied to the conflict involving Iran and the Strait of Hormuz.

Analysts monitoring the energy market have pointed to refinery utilization rates, U.S. crude oil inventories, OPEC+ production policies and seasonal driving demand as factors influencing fuel costs in 2026, particularly during periods of refinery outages or shipping disruptions affecting global oil supplies.
