A Perry woman was arrested Monday after allegedly assaulting a Perry man in front of two children.
Kaitlyn Star Heinonen, 24, of 2512 Perry Park Ave., Perry, was charged with domestic abuse assault-impeding air/blood flow causing bodily injury and two counts of child endangerment.
The incident began about 2:45 a.m. Monday at a resident in the 2500 block of Perry Park Avenue, where officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a report of a disturbance.
The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that in the course of a domestic dispute, Heinonen allegedly “proceeded to assault and choke him,” and he “was placed in a ‘choke hold’ as he held his juvenile daughter,” according to court records.
The officers observed on the victim “blood covering his nose and his mouth,” and his “neck was red and appeared to have marks around the side of his neck and behind his ear, consistent with pressure being applied to the area,” according to court records.
The officers made contact with Heinonen, who “admitted to hitting the victim on the shoulder,” according to court records.
Two minors witnessed the alleged assault, according to court records.
Heinonen is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $9,000 cash or surety bond. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Sept. 3 in Dallas County District Court.
