Linn County Authorities report a one vehicle accident with injury last night. According to the report, deputies, along with Coggon Fire and Center Point Ambulance were dispatched just before 11pm last night to an unknown injury motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Coggon Rd and Robinson Rd in northern Linn County. Upon arrival responding units discovered a blue 2025 Honda Civic operated by 23-year old Merlin Yohana Loyes Zamora of Cedar Rapids had failed to stop for the stop sign while southbound on Robinson Rd at Coggon Rd and entered the south ditch coming to rest partially in a farm pond. Merlin’s infant child was also in the vehicle and properly restrained in a child safety seat. The infant was uninjured. Merlin was transported to St. Luke’s hospital for possible minor injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
