The driver has been identified in a hit-and-run incident outside of Solon that left a pedestrian seriously injured.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office issued a news release Friday night indicating they had learned the driver’s identity, but it is not included in the statement.
The official accident report from the Iowa State Patrol indicates 40-year-old Brian Vincent of Solon was walking eastbound along the 4200 block of 180th Street just after 8:00 Thursday night when he was struck by a passing vehicle. The vehicle then fled the scene.
Vincent was airlifted to University of Iowa Health Care in Iowa City with what the sheriff’s office described as life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
