BOONE, Iowa—Clara Fulton of Ames was selected the 2026 Boone County Fair Queen during a coronation ceremony on the Leonard Good Stage at the Boone County Fairgrounds Wednesday. Fulton is the daughter of Dan and Lois Fulton and is a senior at Ames High School. She is a member of the Luther Livewires 4-H Club.
As the Fair Queen, Fulton received a $400 scholarship and a local business prize package worth over $250 thanks to Eternity Nails, Bacon Jewelers, Jodi’s Hometown Boutique and Whitney Boggess with Allie’s Hair Care. As the 2026 Boone County Fair Queen, Fulton will represent Boone County in the Iowa State Fair Queen Contest.
Sawyer Curry, the daughter of Chad and Tonya Curry is a senior at Ogden High School. She is a member of the Westside Hustlers 4-H Club and a member of the Ogden FFA Chapter. As the Fair Princess, Curry received a $200 scholarship.
Lydia Longhorn was the First Runner-up and receives a $75 scholarship.
There were 16 young ladies entered into the 2026 Boone County Fair Lil’ Miss contest and Vivian Meyers was selected by a panel of judges. Seven young gentlemen were entered into the Lil’ Mr. contest and that honor went to Maddox McBirnie was selected.
