DVIP and Houses Into Homes partner on new stable housing project

Over the past year, DVIP/RVAP: Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Crisis Services has continued to expand, providing both immediate and long-term crisis support services to nearly 3500 victim-survivors across their eight-county service region.
Included in this expansion is the addition of a safe housing program: The Row, which is currently under construction and are set to open to clients next month.
With a total of 6 townhouse units, The Row will provide residents with up to three years of equitable, stable housing, paired with other comprehensive services needed for victim-survivors to rebuild their lives.
According to the 2023 Johnson County Housing Report, there are only 18 affordable and available units for every 100 extremely low-income households in Johnson County, meaning Johnson County is short over 8200 affordable rental units for this income level. The Row directly addresses this gap by establishing the county’s first stable housing program specifically for survivors of domestic or sexual violence.
Construction of the units is nearly complete, and DVIP/RVAP is partnering with Houses into Homes, the county’s only nonprofit furniture bank, to furnish and decorate all six units with durable and reliable furniture and decor to help families feel welcome and at home.
