For the second time in three days a Cass County man is accused of using a rock to shatter a window in Iowa City.
Iowa City Police say 28-year-old Jerry Carr of Anita, Iowa threw a rock at the windows of the Robert A. Lee Community Recreation Center just after 10:00 Wednesday night. Arriving officers say when they asked Rec Center staff about the suspect, Carr raised his hands and said, “I did it.” He also reportedly said, “I wish I threw more before I was snitched on.” When asked why he broke the window, Carr was initially silent, then police say he rep[lied that he wanted to go back to jail.
Carr was arrested on Monday afternoon for using a rock to break a window at the Maverick on South Gilbert Street. Between the two incidents, Carr faces charges of 2nd and 3rd Degree Criminal Mischief. If convicted on both counts, he faces a maximum of seven years in prison.
