After a fairly cool start to summer, forecasters say extreme heat will hit Iowa with full force next week.
National Weather Service meteorologist Alexis Jimenez:
Heat indices may well reach above 100-degrees – and that steamy weather is expected to stick around and continue into next weekend for the 4th of July holiday.
Forecasters say there’s a chance of showers and storms on Saturday night, as well as several chances next week.
