An Iowa City man faces Domestic Assault and Child Endangerment charges after a Saturday night incident at his residence.
45-year-old Jesse Allen and the victim got into a verbal argument at approximately 8:50pm. Allen was reportedly upset because the woman did not get home earlier, and the woman was upset with Allen because he was intoxicated.
Allen allegedly struck the woman in the face, which reportedly made her stumble into a stove. She suffered pain to her jaw, a visible scratch and redness. Allen reportedly left before Sheriff’s deputies arrived on scene.
Two children were present in the residence at the time of the incident. Attempts to contact Allen were unsuccessful.
Allen was located and taken to the Johnson County Jail several hours later. He remains there on a $6000 bond and a no-contact order was issued by Judge David Fiester. He faces up to six years in prison if convicted on two counts of Child Endangerment and one count of Domestic Abuse Assault 2nd offense.
