An Iowa City man was arrested for an alleged domestic assault that took place this summer.
According to the police report, 41-year-old Seth Brenneman and the victim have been in an intimate relationship for over a year, and had been living together for about six months. On the morning of August 10th, he allegedly pushed and punched the woman, causing minor scrapes and bruising. By the time police arrived, Brenneman had left the scene.
A warrant was issued the next day, and he remained at large until Monday, when Brenneman was taken into custody and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault causing Injury. He faces up to a year in jail if convicted.
Brenneman was released on his own recognizance pending arraignment. A no-contact order was issued by Judge Brandon Schrock.
