DES MOINES, Iowa—The National Weather Service Office in Des Moines has updated concerns about extreme heat with heat indices of 105°F to 115°F today, then hot again for southern Iowa on Tuesday with heat indices of 100°F to 105°F. There will also be strong to severe storms with damaging wind potential tonight into early Tuesday morning. For the heat: Area-wide today, then southern Iowa on Tuesday. For the storms tonight: mainly over the northern half of Iowa.
