Monticello Fatal Shooting Investigation

The Monticello Police Department reports preliminary evidence has supported that the use of deadly force was justified under the circumstances in the shooting death of a man who had reportedly broke into a Monticello home last week.  Police say the investigation is continuing.

Police say during the early morning hours of January 11th, 30-year-old Pattrick O’Brine had broken into a home in the 300 block of South Sycamore Street. Once inside, a resident with a gun shot and killed O’Brine, the resident and his 10-year-old son were both inside and unharmed.
