AMES — Zachary Weisz Vince, 27, faces nine criminal charges in Story County, including eight involving the sexual exploitation of a minor, according to Iowa court records. He is due in court Oct. 5.
Vince is charged with one Class B felony count of causing a minor to engage in an act of sexual exploitation, two Class C felony counts of promoting a film involving the sexual exploitation of a minor and five Class D felony counts of purchasing or possessing a depiction of a minor engaged in a sex act. He also faces one aggravated misdemeanor count of bestiality.
All nine criminal complaints were filed by the Iowa State University Department of Public Safety, according to court records. The records provided do not say whether the alleged offenses occurred on campus.
Vince’s LinkedIn profile lists his studies at Iowa State as ending in May 2025. His attendance has not been independently confirmed.
Court records list May 2, 2025, as the offense date for the first three counts and Sept. 4, 2025, for the remaining six. Bail was set at $72,000 cash, and records show Kathy Kay Vince posted the full amount Thursday. The records do not establish whether Zachary Weisz Vince has been released.
