Some campers in the Delaware County area are being asked to move due to rising river levels.
The Maquoketa River is rising and is expected to crest at 13.3 feet early Thursday morning. At this level, portions of the lower Bailey’s Ford Campground south of Manchester (which includes sites 1 – 36A) are likely to experience some flooding.
Delaware County Conservation says this is a forecast, and actual water levels may exceed 13.3 feet. As a precaution, they have advised campers to relocate from the lower Bailey’s Ford area. Campsites on higher ground are still available.
