Two Dyersville residents are among three people injured in a Linn County collision on Monday morning.
Emergency personnel were dispatched to a two-vehicle head-on personal injury motor vehicle accident on Hwy 1 north of Mosher Lane. The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says responding units discovered a 2026 Ford Mustang and a silver 2010 Chevy Malibu had collided blocking Hwy 1.
The driver of the Mustang, 54-year old Stephen Jewell of Dyersville and the driver of the Malibu, 37-year old Colleen Arnold of Mt. Vernon, both had to be extricated from their vehicles. Both suffered serious injuries. The passenger in the Mustang, 63-year old Holly Jewell of Dyersville, was able to exit the vehicle under her own power and received minor injuries. All three were transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Hwy 1 was closed for a short time due to the accident. The accident remains under investigation.
