Jones County has a newly-constructed Public Safety Facility.
The Public Safety Facility houses emergency response equipment for the Jones County Sheriff’s Office, Jones County Conservation, Jones County Emergency Management and Iowa Department of Homeland Security. It’s located just north of Anamosa off Highway 151 in the commercial district.
Prior to this facility being constructed, Jones County’s emergency response equipment was housed in six different locations throughout the county. Jones County Sheriff Greg Graver says the new Public Safety Facility will be the epicenter of learning and training for area first responders decades into the future.
The public was invited to check out the new facility during an open house on Monday, look at the equipment, and chat with area first responders.
