A Marion teenager is accused of pulling a gun on a pedestrian in downtown Iowa City early Sunday morning.
Iowa City Police say 18-year-old Jahvelle Horne of Navajo Drive had an ongoing feud with the alleged victim, and showed up at that person’s location on Linn Street at about 12:30 Sunday morning. Horne allegedly started an argument with the person and pointed a gun at them.
Horne was located a short time later inside a vehicle with a gun that had been reported stolen from Marion tucked inside his waistband. The vehicle allegedly smelled of marijuana, and Horne reportedly had some on his person when he was searched.
Horne was booked into the Johnson County Jail just after 2:30 Sunday morning and charged with Going Armed With Intent, Trafficking in Stolen Weapons, Person Ineligible to Carry Dangerous Weapons, Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon, and Possession of Marijuana. If convicted on all counts, he faces a maximum of 22 years in prison.
