A wrong-way driver has been arrested on drug and drunk driving charges.
The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office reports pulling over a 2022 Chevy Silverado that was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Old Highway 218 near Oak Crest Hill Road just before 12:45 Sunday morning. The driver, 48-year-old Brian Brown of Wilson Avenue SW in Cedar Rapids, reportedly showed signs of impairment. A deputy reports finding methamphetamine inside the vehicle.
Brown has a previous Operating While Intoxicated conviction out of Linn County from 2016. He’s now charged with OWI – 2nd Offense, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Improper Use of Lanes. If convicted on all counts, he faces a maximum of three years in jail.
