A customer is accused of threatening an employee of an Iowa City auto repair business, then leaving with his repaired vehicle without paying.
Iowa City Police say just before 3:30 Thursday afternoon Jeremey Davies of North 1st Avenue was at Hanson Automotive on Freedom Court when he threatened to stab an employee in the throat while making a stabbing motion towards his own throat. Davies then allegedly left in his vehicle after it was repaired without paying his $246.71 bill.
Davies is charged with 1st Degree Harassment and 5th Degree Theft. If convicted on both counts, he faces a maximum of 25 months in jail.
