Two Airlifted after Buchanan County Truck-Semi Collision

Two people were airlifted after a collision in Buchanan County on Tuesday morning.

It happened shortly after 6:30 am on Highway 150 south of 240th Street. The Iowa State Patrol says a pickup truck was northbound when it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a semi heading south. 

The 60-year old pickup driver from Macon, Missouri, and their 35-year old passenger from Clarence, Missouri, suffered life-threatening injuries. Both were airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. 

The 40-year old semi driver from Oelwein was not hurt.

Authorities are withholding names until family has been notified.

The accident remains under investigation.
