Motorcycle accident sends Cedar Rapids pedestrian to hospital

A weekend motorcycle accident in Cedar Rapids sent a pedestrian to a hospital.

According to a release from the city, Police and Fire personnel responded to the 1800 block of Williams Blvd SW at approximately 11:14p.m. Saturday for the report of a motorcycle vs pedestrian incident. Responders located a 67-year-old male who had been struck and required immediate treatment.

The man was flown to a local hospital with what were believed to be life-threatening injuries.

The 44-year-old male operator of the motorcycle received citations for not having a driver’s license and no proof of insurance. Further charges are possible pending results of the investigation by Traffic Investigators.
