Two People Injured in Pickup/Semi Collision Near Coggon

Two people were injured in a pickup/semi collision near Coggon on Thursday night.

It happened on Highway 13 and Nugents Road around 8:30 pm. The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says upon arriving, first responders discovered a pickup truck with heavy front-end damage in the ditch and a semi with significant side damage on the shoulder of the road.

An investigation shows the pickup was southbound when it crossed the centerline and sideswiped the semi and trailer that was heading north. The truck then lost control and went into the ditch, hitting a utility pole and breaking it in half.
