Two people were killed in a collision near Hopkinton on Saturday night.
According to a crash report released by the Iowa State Patrol, 44-year old Bobbi Jo Bauers of Delhi was driving her car southbound on Highway 38 around 6:15 pm when she crossed the centerline and struck a northbound pickup truck head-on.
Both Bauers and the pickup driver, 33-year old Anthony Nile Mentzer of Monticello, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Delaware and Jones County Sheriff’s Offices assisted at the scene, along with Hopkinton Fire & EMS, Koob’s Towing and Leonard Funeral Home.
Both Bauers and Mentzer were transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny.
