Throwing a sign through the front window of an Iowa City grocery store has led to the arrest of a local transient.
Iowa City Police say just before 2:15 Sunday morning 34-year-old Brandon Blake through a Starbucks sign through one of the front windows of the Waterfront Hy-Vee. Arriving officers found Blake still standing near the broken window. Blake reportedly admitted to grabbing the sign, turning it on its sideways throwing it from right to left through the window. Damage is estimated at over $2,000.
Blake is charged with 2nd Degree Criminal Mischief. If convicted, he faces a maximum of five years in prison.
