The Mount Ayr girl’s golf team won both meets they played in last week in a span of 48 hours.
The Raiderettes played at the 18-hole Sidney invitational on Wednesday, April 9, and at Martensdale-St. Mary’s on Thursday, April 10.
At Sidney, the Raiderttes played in an 18-hole meet and won it, scoring a team score of 416. Sidney was second with a score of 423 and Treynor third with a score of 426.
Jaylee Shaffer was the medalist at the meet with a score of 83, while Treynor’s Sophi Pedersen was the runner-up medalist, five strokes back, at 88.
Other Mount Ayr scores were Olivia Huntington 107, Kamryn Willis 112, Izzy Gilbertson 114, Abby Larson 132, and Claire Routh 139.
The next night, Mount Ayr competed in a triangular with Pride of Iowa Conference teams Martensdale-St. Mary’s and SE Warren.
Mount Ayr won the meet, led by Shaffer as the medalist with a score of 44, and a team score of 206. Martensdale-St. Mary’s was the runner-up team with a score of 219. Other Mount Ayr scores were Alana Doolittle 50, Kamryn Willis 55, Olivia Huntington 57, Abby Larson 63, and Izzy Gilbertson 64.

The Mount Ayr boy’s golf team also picked up a nice meet win on Thursday, April 10 at the Martensdale-St. Mary’s triangular. The two POI teams were joined by a third, SE Warren, in the three-team meet. Mount Ayr won the meet with a team score of 179 points while SE Warren was second with 196 points. Martensdale-St. Mary’s was third.
Two Raiders tied for the medalist honors and a third Raider was the runner-up medalist. Mount Ayr’s Trevin Victor and Tanner Streit tied for medalist honors by each scoring a 42 for the nine holes. Jaxson Greene was the medalist runner-up with a score of 45.
Other Mount Ayr scores were Louden Main 50, Avery Wolfe 50, and Jaxsen Walter 51. Mount Ayr had a busy week this week with three meets. The Raiders golfed at Wayne Monday, at Creston Tuesday, and will be at Lenox Friday for an 18-hold meet.
Mount Ayr will play in four meets next week starting with a meet in Leon on Monday and a meet hosted by East Union on Tuesday.
