The State’s largest food bank, the Food Bank of Iowa, is going to be hosting one of six regional meetings to address hunger in Newton Tuesday March 26th. Food Bank of Iowa spokeswoman Annette Hacker.
After the roundtable meeting, Hacker says Food Bank of Iowa representatives tour the town’s food banks to learn first hand about the local food insecurity issues. She says these regional roundtable meetings have been held the past five or so years, and have been well received. After Newton’s roundtable the Food Bank of Iowa will go to Webster City the following day March 27th, Panora March 28th, Albia April 24th, Fairfield April 25th and Algona May 7th. Hacker says all the roundtables begin at 10 a.m.. The Food Bank of Iowa serves 55 of the state’s 99 counties.
