
Rogelio Olivera-Martinez, 31, of Creston, was taken into custody 7:12 a.m. Jan. 25 at his residence on the charges of public intoxication, interference with official acts, criminal mischief, fourth degree; burglary, first degree and domestic abuse assault – injury or mental illness, first offense.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 6:29 a.m. a female placed a 911 call and stated Olivera-Martinez was attempting to break into her vehicle while she was inside of it. When officers arrived, Olivera-Martinez was observed attempting to enter the vehicle after he had broke the driver’s side window with the cinder block.
Olivera-Martinez did not listen to officer’s commands causing officer’s to go hand’s on with him and he resisted arrest. He was observed to have poor balance, bloodshot watery eyes and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person. He made statements he had been drinking and he was drunk.
It was discovered in addition to the driver’s side window, Olivera-Martinez broke the driver’s and passenger side door handles and mirrors and the back window wiper on the victims vehicle. He and the victim had previously been in a relationship.
Olivera-Martinez was transported to the Union County Jail and held on $27,300 cash or surety bond.

Dylan J. Lawrence, 25, of Creston, was taken into custody 1:40 p.m. Jan. 25 at the Union County Law Enforcement Center on a Union County warrant for the charge of OWI, first offense.
According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 11:48p.m. Dec. 18, officers stopped a 2011 Ford F150 on Prairie Street for not displaying a rear license plate. Contact was made with the driver, identified as Lawrence, who had bloodshot, watery eyes. An odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle. Lawrence told officers he had smoked within the prior 2 hours but that no marijuana was in the truck. During a search of the vehicle officers located a container with THC wax and a marijuana pipe.
Lawrence consented to field sobriety testing and showed numerous validated clues of impairment. Lawrence also consented to advanced roadside impaired driving enforcement tests (ARIDE), which he also showed signs of impairment on.
Lawrence provided a urine sample for chemical testing, which was sent to the DCI Crime Lab. The lab confirmed a positive screen for marijuana metabolites, with a threshold level of 63 ng/mL. A warrant for Lawrence’s arrest was issued after lab results were received.
Lawrence was transported to the Union County Jail where he was released from after posting $1,000 cash or surety bond.
