On Monday, the Jefferson County Board of Supervisors met with the Director of Crisis Services with Elevate, Jennifer Stevenson, for a team update.

According to Stephenson since the establishment of a Mobile Crisis Team, the team has responded to over 20 calls for assistance and can respond to a call in a moment’s notice.

For a person or family going through a mental health crisis, the Mobile Crisis team offers a group of professionals who can offer on-site, face-to-face mental health assistance. Referrals can also come from service providers, medical professionals, employers, family members, friends, or other individuals who believe a situation would benefit from on-site crisis intervention.

Those who may be suffering from mental health issues can also contact 988 for immediate mental health assistance.

Funded by the Mental Health Agency of Southeast Iowa, the Elevate Mobile Crisis Team covers Keokuk, Washington, Louisa, Des Moines, Henry, Lee, Van Buren, and Jefferson Counties.
