Ole Miss and head volleyball coach Kayla Banwarth have mutually agreed to part ways. The athletic department made the announcement in a press release yesterday afternoon: https://olemisssports.com/news/2022/10/27/ole-miss-launches-search-for-new-volleyball-coach.
Banwarth, a Dubuque native, was placed on administrative last Thursday by the school while they conducted a review of the program. A reason for the program review has still not been disclosed by Ole Miss. In a statement in the release, Banwarth said: Coaching volleyball is her greatest passion and she will continue to pursue that passion when the right opportunity arises.
In her third season, Banwarth compiled a 29-38 record including last season guiding the Rebels to their first NCAA appearance since 2010. The Rebels were 7-and-10 under her direction this season.
