The City of Muscatine has closed the intersection at 2nd Street and Sycamore Street to ALL vehicle and pedestrian traffic due to the condition of a pair of nearby buildings.
A Saturday night post of the city’s official Facebook page indicates the closure is a precaution being taken in response to the current condition of buildings at 201 East 2nd Street and 203 East 2nd Street that were previously evacuated in November when there was evidence that they had moved.
Barricades and security fences are currently in place restricting access to the intersection.
