A West Des Moines woman was arrested Thursday after allegedly assaulting a West Des Moines man in Waukee.
Alayna Kay Thomas, 26, of 1770 92nd St., West Des Moines, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness and child endangerment.
The incident began about 7:45 p.m. Thursday at a residence in the 600 block of Legacy Pointe Boulevard in Waukee, where officers of the Waukee Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
According to court records, Thomas allegedly “was observed on video assaulting the victim with a baseball bat.”
Thomas allegedly “was observed also spitting and hitting” the victim, according to court records.
A 4-year-old witnessed the incident, according to court records.
Thomas was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $3,000 cash or surety bond. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing May 11 in Dallas County District Court.
