DES MOINES, Iowa—The National Weather Service Office in Des Moines has updated information concerning the severe ​weather potential ​from Friday through Monday. Today, much of Iowa has the potential for severe weather with the highest severe risk north of Highway 92. Saturday, Western and Central Iowa will see the highest potential for severe weather. Timing for severe weather today could begin around 5 PM and last through 4 AM Saturday. Storms will begin in northwestern Iowa and move southeast overnight through early Saturday morning. Saturday, storms will enter Iowa Saturday afternoon and last through Sunday morning.
