A Waukee woman was arrested Friday after she allegedly assaulted her mother and injured an officer of the Waukee Police Department.

Lindsey Nichole Daye, 24, of 761 N.E. Venture Dr., Waukee, was charged with assault, first-offense possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine and interference with official acts-bodily injury.

The incident began about 7:30 p.m. Friday at a residence in the 700 block of N.E. Venture Drive, where officers of the Waukee Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

While handling Daye’s cigarettes, an officer observed “baggies in the cigarette pack” and “a white, crystal substance in the baggies,” according to court records. The substance tested positive for methamphetamine.

As Daye was “being taken into custody,” she allegedly “began fighting with officers, causing injury to one,” according to court records.

Daye allegedly “also threw a soft drink cup at” her mother, according to court records.

Daye is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing June 2 in Dallas County District Court.
