     The Bedford Bulldogs were well represented at state last week and the highlight came on Saturday, May 23rd when the Shuttle Hurdle team of senior Kase Coleman, sophomore Kayden Fletcher, Senior Hayden Riedel and junior Quentin Dalton wowed the crowd in the first heat of the finals with a time of 1:00.17 to break their own school record. They then watched the next heat that had Lynnville Sully run a 59.32 and Iowa Valley Morengo run a 59.44 and the Bulldog Faithful celebrated a 3rd place finish at the Blue Oval. The Shuttle Hurdle team had to qualify and they did that on Saturday when they ran a 1:01.28 to qualify 5th.
     The 4X100 team of senior Ashton Nally, Dalton, Riedel and Fletcher finished in 21st place with a time of 45.21. Coleman finished 15th in the long jump with a leap of 19.08.25. Freshman Jeffry      Knighton finished 15th in the high jump as he cleared 5-11. Sophomore Kaleb Johnson closed off his strong season with a new personal best in the 800M with a time of 2:01.82 for 16th place.      Dalton placed 15th in the 110M hurdles with a time of 15.60 and 18th in the 400M hurdles with a time of 56.64.
     Senior Eli Johnson wrapped up his track and field career with a 2nd place finish in the 100M wheelchair with a seasons best 18.41 and 2nd place in the 200M wheelchair in a time of 32.40. A second place finish in the 400M Wheelchair wrapped up Eli’s great Bulldog career with a personal best time of 1:02.76. He also finished 3rd in the 800M wheelchair with a seasons best 2:21.84.
     For the Lady Bulldogs the shuttle hurdle set a new season’s best time of 1:11.65 as junior Caroline Simmons, freshman Charlee Fletchall, freshman Charlotte Sha-far and senior Joslynn Longfellow placed 16th. Sophomore Paisley Sleep finished 19th with a throw of 107-03 in the discus.
