An Oxford man was arrested on a Controlled Substance warrant after a search of his residence found large quantities of marijuana.

According to the criminal complaint, a search warrant was done on the Cosgrove Road Southwest residence of 36-year-old Jaleel Applegate on November 13th of last year. Officers allegedly found about 1500 grams of marijuana in multiple bags. Drug paraphernalia, packaging materials, and other narcotics were also reportedly found.

A warrant for Applegate’s arrest was issued May 8th; he was taken into custody on the 21st and charged with a Class D Felony controlled substance violation. If convicted, he faces a prison term of up to five years.

Applegate posted $5000 bond on Friday ahead of arraignment.
