A Minnesota woman was arrested Thursday night after allegedly assaulting a man in a West Des Moines motel.
Molly Kay Sickels, 42, of 414 Crescent Dr., Albert Lea, Minnesota, was charged with assault causing bodily injury or mental illness.
The incident began about 11 p.m. Thursday at a West Des Moines motel in the 1200 block of Jordan Creek Parkway, where officers of the West Des Moines Police Department responded to a report of a disturbance.
The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that in the course of a domestic dispute, Sickels allegedly “threw an object at the victim’s head, striking him in the upper left side of his forehead,” according to court records.
The officers observed on the victim “visible injuries on his head,” according to court records.
Sickels was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
