I am writing to you with an appeal for Iowa’s future: vote wisely!
I am too young to vote yet, but you aren’t. You hold Iowa’s future- my future- in your vote. Use it wisely.
I often hear people talk about how “winnable” a candidate is, how likely they are to get that magic 40%. But is that what our votes should be based on? A candidate may be very “winnable”, but that doesn’t mean they care about the same values and issues you do. And what is the use of electing them if they won’t do what is right once they are in office?
We need to vote for the best candidate, the one who will lead Iowa with a constitutional foundation, regardless of how popular or “winnable” they are. Remember, the best candidate won’t get 40% it if you don’t vote for him.
Please, vote on policy, not popularity.
Sincerely,
Naomi Lary
Junior Delegate from Wright County, IA
