Today is Great Give Day.

It’s eastern Iowa’s biggest day of giving, with non-profits from across Delaware County and the surrounding area participating.

That’s Foundation for the Future of Delaware County Executive Director Amanda Diers, who says more than 200 northeast Iowa nonprofits are participating in this annual event to support local organizations that build stronger communities. Delaware County residents have the opportunity to give to 22 local organizations that have endowment funds with the Foundation, including:

  • 100 for 1000
  • Aidan Bailey aka Mr. Smiley and Grandma Lori Memorial Endowment
  • Community Childcare of Manchester
  • Delaware County Historical Society
  • Delaware County Pheasants Forever
  • Delhi Evergreen Cemetery
  • Delhi Public Library
  • Edgewood Board of Economic Development
  • Edgewood Public Library
  • Ed-Co Learn, Create, Compete
  • Fairview Cemetery Association
  • First Presbyterian Church, Manchester
  • Foundation for the Future of Delaware County
  • Greater Delaware County Community Foundation
  • Hopkinton Public Library
  • Manchester Vitality Endowment
  • Manchester Cemetery Perpetual Care Endowment
  • Manchester Public Library
  • Maquoketa Valley Alliance
  • Maquoketa Valley Dollars for Scholars
  • Regional Medical Center
  • Ryan Community Endowment

Giving is easy! Go to greatgiveday.org anytime today through midnight tonight – you can donate to as many of the participating nonprofits as you’d like.

Today, the Foundation for the Future of Delaware County will host an event with some of these non-profits at the Delaware County Fairgrounds Community Center from 4 to 6 pm.

If you’re more comfortable with donating in person or need help donating online, Diers says you can do that at this evening’s event.

Last year, Great Give Day set a new donation record, raising $640,000 for non-profits across Eastern Iowa, including nearly $18,000 for Delaware County nonprofits. This year, the Community Foundation aims to top that record, setting a goal of $700,000.
