Gene Volz honored for half-century of American Legion membership

Gene Volz, who farmed for many years in rural Bouton, was honored Monday for achieving 50 years of continuous membership in the  American Legion.

Volz served in the U.S. Army in World War II and was stationed at Camp Tachikawa in Japan.

He will turn 100 in July and currently resides at the Spring Valley campus o the Perry Lutheran Homes.
