A Des Moines man was arrested Friday after he allegedly assaulted an officer of the Clive Police Department.
Thomas Francis Hendricks III, 29, of 3650 Cottage Grove Ave., Des Moines, was charged with public intoxication and interference with official acts-serious bodily injury.
The incident began about 3:45 p.m. Friday at a convenience store in the 15500 block of Hickman Avenue in Clive, where officers of the Clive Police Department responded to a report of a disturbance.
The officers made contact with Hendricks, who allegedly “refused to follow lawful commands” and was assisted to the ground, where “he continued resisting, which resulted in” an officer “getting a bruised, bloody knee” according to court records.
Hendricks was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
