A Coralville man faces possible jail time after a traffic stop discovered marijuana in his vehicle.

Just after 1:45am Tuesday, Iowa City police pulled over 22-year-old Aiden Behounek of Boston Way after a check showed his driving status as suspended for violation of his DOT probation. It was also reportedly learned that he failed to carry SR22 insurance.

Upon contact, the officer allegedly detected an odor of marijuana, with several marijuana roaches and a grinder in plain view.

During a probable cause search, police reportedly found a baggie with a small amount of marijuana., rolling papers, and several empty marijuana baggies throughout the vehicle. Behounek allegedly told police that he smokes in his vehicle in lieu of doing it at home.

He was charged with marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession, Behounek was also cited for driving while suspended. If convicted on the criminal charges, he faces up to 13 months in jail.
