A Central City motorcyclist was injured in a collision Thursday night.
The accident happened south of Mount Vernon at 99 Highway 1 around 9:30 pm. The Linn County Sheriff’s Office says 36-year old Raymond Heasty had slowed down to pull off to the side of the road when his motorcycle was hit from behind by a pickup truck. Both vehicles ended up in the east ditch.
Heasty suffered minor injuries and was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. His passenger was not hurt.
The driver of the pickup, 39-year old Luis Ramos Torres of Texas, was cited for following too closely. He also was not hurt in the crash.
