A Clive man was arrested Saturday morning after allegedly strangling a Clive woman and child in the home.

Ntabwika Shukurani, 36, of Clive, was charged with domestic abuse assault-impeding flow of air/blood, false imprisonment, child endangerment-bodily injury and three counts of child endangerment.

The incident began about 9 a.m. Saturday at a residence in the 4400 block of N.W. 166th Street, where officers of the Clive Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that Shukurani allegedly struck her “in the face with their closed fist,” according to court records.

The victim told the officers that Shukurani allegedly “wrapped his arms around” her “neck, squeezing, choking the victim,” according to court records.

Four minors witnessed the incident. One of the minors told the officers that Shukurani also strangled her as well, according to court records.

Shukurani was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond before being released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Dec. 10 in Dallas County District Court.
