A Davenport man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly assaulted a Davenport woman in Adel.
Elijah James Allison, 23, of 427 Iowa St., Davenport, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.
The incident began about 3:15 a.m. Sunday at a residence in the 2100 block of Greene Street in Adel, where officers of the Adel Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that in the course of a domestic dispute, Allison allegedly did “get on top of her and pin her down by her arms.” and she “was struck in the face with an elbow on her lip” and “scratched on her chest region,” according to court records.
The officers observed on the victim “a cut on her bottom lip” and a scratch to her chest, according to court records.
Allison was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Nov. 25 in Dallas County District Court.
