DES MOINES, Iowa — The IMT Des Moines Marathon drew thousands to downtown to run a course that took them throughout the metro.
It’s the 24th annual event, featuring a full marathon, half marathon, a relay, 5K and one-mile walk. Finishers received a medal, along with drinks and food waiting for them at the finish line.
Children’s Cancer Connection is the official charity partner of the marathon and has raised over $58,000 to go towards helping patients along with the search for a cure. Kids with Children’s Cancer Connection were helping hand out medals to the finishers as they crossed the finish line.
