SIOUX CITY, Iowa (Iowa Media Wire) — A local organization is aiming to ensure each family in Siouxland has food on the table and presents under the tree for the upcoming holiday season.
The Salvation Army of Siouxland has opened the registration window for the 2025 Christmas Assistance Programs; assistance will be able to be provided for both food and toys.
The Christmas Assistance Programs will serve families with children ranging in age from infants to 12-year-old, according to the press release.
The first day to set up an appointment with the Salvation Army was Monday, but all appointments will be in-person and later in the fall. Those appointments will involve sitting down with Salvation Army staff and filling out the required registration forms to apply for assistance.
Along with the applications, anyone who registers will be asked to bring the following documentation:
– Birth certificate for every child in the household
– Photo ID for every adult in the household
– Proof of address; this can include a rent receipt, a utility bill, etc.
– Proof of income; this can include a tax form, check stub, etc.
The Angel Tree is returning this year as part of the Salvation Army’s assistance programs. Those applications won’t open until November 2, but will be able to be found by clicking here.
