
The public is welcome to a hot dish/casserole cook off from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at the American Legion Post 569, 515 1st Ave. W., Milan, a news release says.
Dishes will be judged by a panel from 11:30 a.m. until noon. Cost for a public taste test is $5. Registration and drop-off will be 11-11:30 a.m., with a $10 registration fee.
The judges will be Milan Mayor Duane Dawson, Rock Island Mayor Ashley Harris, and Col. William “Joe” Parker, garrison commander, Rock Island Arsenal.
The first place winner get $100; the second place winner, $50; and the third place winner, $25.
