A Perry man was arrested Saturday morning after allegedly withholding his compliance during a traffic stop.

Marlon Yahir Alvayero Ramirez, 20, of 1508 Eighth St., Perry, was charged with interference with officials acts-serious injury, interference with officials acts-bodily injury and driving while suspended.

The incident began about 11 a.m. Saturday near he intersection of Eighth and Bateman streets, where an officer of the Perry Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a 2007 Honda Fit Sport, operated by Alvayero Ramirez,

The officer made contact with Alvayero Ramirez, who allegedly declined to provide his driver’s license and registration for the vehicle, according to court records. Instead, he allegedly locked locked himself inside the vehicle and refused to exit.

Once the officer tried to break a window of the vehicle, Alvayero Ramirez unlocked the door, and the officer “physically assisted” Alvayero Ramirez out of the vehicle, according to court records.

When Alvayero Ramirez refused to put his hands behind his back, the officer “physically assisted” him “to the ground” and began “assisting” his “hands to rear of his back and placing him in custody,” according to court records.

In the interaction, the officer received “a cut” on his left elbow and “a small scrape” on his finger, according to court records.

Alvayero Ramirez was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $3,300 cash or surety bond in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court..
